To: Le Loup, regarding obtaining original Boschloper knives, in all my searches, I’ve not seen any for sale (dating let us say from the 17thc. )… however many originals can be seen in the archives of the N. Y. State museum at Albany New York.an authentically hand forged and made copy was recently made for me by mr. Hamilton. It is very fine. He’s personally examined the 1600s originals in Albany, , and based his Boschlopers on these. I am an historic Dutch presenter, a 17thc. Type artisan who makes Quahog shell purple and white wampum using the reconstructed Native/ Dutch 17thc. Tools, with an auxiliary exhibit of of original antique 1600s trade and domestic relics - dug and non- dug metalware, ceramics , edged weapons and tools. If any original 1600s trade knives came up for sale or bid, it would be not impossible- but an extremely rare offering. Authenticity is all- important to me. Mr. Hamilton’s work is authentic.
Personally I would be more interested in original historic pieces, OR reproduction knives for Living Historians.
