Wm. Moore's VII Co. Gun by Mike Brooks

I made this as a restocked Carolina gun, stocked in black cherry. Salvaged Carolina gun parts were used except for the butt plate and thumb piece and lock. I clipped the tail on the serpent side plate as it has a new style Ketland lock using two screws securing it instead of three the original Carolina gun had. The gun has been given a heavy patina showing age and use. Carved on the right side butt stock along the toe is, "Wm MOORE" above this using brass nails in the shape of the numeral "7". Along the left side of the butt stock along the toe is carved "VII CO", and just above that are scratched the initials "TM". There are numerous scratches, dents and patina covering the entire stock and metal work representing several years of use on the frontier. It has a 42" .20 Hoyt barrel, Chambers Early Ketland lock, the brass hardware formed from sheet brass. The trigger pull is 13" and the gun weighs in at 5 1/2 lbs.

Carl Wilburn made the horn and Dave Koch made the bag. They were both made in the early 80's.
