Steven Sklany and Phillip Craveber
This is a gun that I had made up for me by Phillip Cravener In Latrobe Pa when I lived in Pa . I bought the action in the white from Mr. Sklaney and Mr. Cravener did almost all the work , but the Gold work which I had sent out to do on the barrel and pan in the lock etc . I sold that rifle in Las Vegas around 1989 and I wonder if you can tell me who now owns it , or did when that picture was taken ? I can assure you that is the gun I had made as I recognize the patterns in the wood and the way the name in Gold is lettered etc . Any info would be great, thank you . I tried to call Mr. Sklaney but found he passed away three years ago . William Sanders
The underside of the barrel is marked "Steve Sklaney #1" so the current owner assumed he was the maker. It was acquired in the 90's by the owner who receives comments on this piece when it displayed. It has twice been displayed in the lobby of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum.

Thank you , please correct the upper part which has Cravener spelled wrong . Is their anyway you can ask the owner if they would ever consider trading this piece for other nice guns ? it was a gun my Father paid Mr Cravener to make for me just before he died and was a small group of my best guns I had to sell to pay medical expenses when he had cancer ? I would love to have it back for those sentimental reasons and have been looking for it for years . The Gold pan was made from a Gold coin he gave me that was melted down by the way . This gun is a half stock with a pewter for end cap even though that does not show, where the orriginal it was copied from had a two piece full stock. Also in the orrigianl gun the gold vine went all arrouind the breech plug but the guy we used for the gold did nhot take it all the way arround . On the orriginal the silver face is also a sliding saftey but in this one it is only decorative. Thank you William Sanders 951 738 1433
