This man in the circle is shown and described in the book "The Covenant Chain" on page 137. Found in pieces, it required some artistic license to fill in the blanks. It has Montreal touchmarks but no individual maker mark. Size is 6.8 cm diameter. I make this piece by hammering out a round ingot of silver as so many of the old pieces were made. Robert Griffing used this piece on his portrait painting of Wayne Jackson entitled "He Who Speaks of the Old Ways". Wayne's Indian name, Metocinia, means "Living Man", an appropriate name for this pendant. David J. Hughes
