The William Whitley house is a state historic site in Crab Orchard, Kentucky. It is the home of Kentucky pioneer William Whitley and his wife Ester. The home was built as a fortress against Indian attacks between 1787 and 1794.
We have stopped at this site many times on the way to the CLA Show. Once we were fortunate to be there when the Whitley rifle was out of the case and were able to examine it. Also, the Whitley sash was brought out for us to view.
